One of America's largest private equity houses is rumoured to be interested in buying DXC Technology, the US-listed IT services group.

Last week, Bloomberg reported that DXC had been approached by at least one private equity firm.

People following the situation had heard talk KKR & Co is one of the buy-out houses that is looking at DXC.

However, it's not clear whether DXC is open to a deal with a private equity house...

KKR splashes out £1.6 billion on ContourGlobal

It would appear the buy-out the buccaneers at KKR have got their bit between the teeth for European renewable energy companies.

Today, KKR has agreed a take private for London-listed CounterGlobal, the owner and operator of contracted power generation plants, for 263.3p a share or around £1.6 billion.

That deal comes soon after KKR's $1.7 billion purchase of Albioma, a France-listed solar and biomass producer...

A loyal reader points out that the Dealreporter piece reveals the Guillemot family, who founded Ubisoft in 1986, is assessing doing a deal with a private equity firm.

That fact is extremely important because the Guillemot's were viewed a possible impediment to a takeover following an approach several years ago at a much higher price...
